What to Expect

Sunday Worship

Arrival

Our main entrance is up the stairs from our parking lot (we also have an ADA entrance on the north side of our building). Once inside you will be greeted by one of our friendly volunteers who will be able to answer any questions you may have and point you in the right direction. Some people enjoy dressing up, others not so much. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, multi-national, and multi-class church. This is something we are intentional to honor and lean into, and we have found that it means no matter your story - you will feel welcome and at home at Brookdale.

Worship

Our time of worship is usually about 75-80 minutes. During worship we will sing together, greet one another, be led in a time of prayer, enjoy a children's sermon (more on this below), hear a reading from the Bible, receive a relevant teaching based on the scripture text(s), and end our time with a final blessing. After Sunday Worship concludes people often linger in the lobby or head downstairs to a Sunday Formation Class (Sept-May).

School-Aged Children

The Sunday Morning Kid's Experience begins in Worship. Kids are invited to participate in worship - singing, giving offering, reading scripture. After the Children's Sermon kids K-5th grade are invited to Children's Church for a time of teaching just for kids, led by our team of Children's Ministry volunteers. Children are returned to their parents/guardian in the Sanctuary during the closing song of the Worship Service.

Littles

Birth-4 years old are also invited to join us for the beginning of worship (we do not mind if they make some noise - we believe children are to be seen and heard). Following the Children's Sermon little Birth - Pre-K can be dropped off in the nursery. We ask our parents/guardians to pick up their little ones immediately following the end of the worship service.
